The renovation of the Teekkarisauna will start on August 7th!

We are happy to announce that the renovation of Teekkarisauna Mörrimöykky will begin on August 7th, 2023.

This information sheet provides important information about the schedule of the repair works and their effects on the use of the sauna facilities. 

The Teekkarisauna Mörrimöykky has been an important part of the teekkari community for three decades, and its renovation is a necessary step to preserve it as a safe, comfortable and functional space. The project covers various updates and improvements to the sauna's structures, systems and interior.

The estimated duration of the overhaul is approximately four months, and it is planned to be completed by mid-November 2023. The sauna is not available at this time.

The repair work is carried out carefully by a professional contractor, ensuring a high-quality end result. The main contractor in the project is Consti Korjausrakentanimen Oy. Ramboll CM Oy has donated the planning and supervision work of the repair construction, and Tanel Tiainen, who is also known as an active teekkari from TARAKI, is responsible for the project.

In the renovation, the sauna will be improved within the existing walls. The interior surfaces of the entire building will be rebuilt, the building technology of the sauna will be renewed, and the sauna will be connected to the district heating network. The kitchen of the sauna will be moved to the place of the current back room, which will increase the usable area of the main hall. The comfortability of the sauna department will be improved and the toilets will be completely renovated, including a new accessible toilet.

The renovation of the sauna has been financed entirely with donations. Companies and other stakeholders close to the Teekkari Union of Tampere have donated work, materials and money to the project so that the Teekkarisauna can serve teekkaris in the future as well.
