The call for applications for the Finance Committee is now open!
Teekkari Union of Tampere is looking for a new member to join the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee acts as an advisory and preparatory expert body under the Teekkar Council. The term of office of the members of the Finance Committee is 1-3 years. This call for applications is primarily for members who can commit themselves to a 2-year term of office.
The rules of procedure of the Finance Committee specify the following:
3§ Tasks
The task of the Finance Committee is to act as an advisory and preparatory expert body, which, when necessary or requested, gives opinions to the Board of Teekkari Union of Tampere or the Teekkari Council on matters within its remit.
The terms of reference of the Finance Commission shall include:
Preparing the finances of the association and its plans
Contributing to the preparation of the assiociation’s budget
Preparation of the association's financial statements
The tasks assigned to it by the Council
4§ Members of the Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is composed of 3-10 persons with financial and administrative expertise, of whom at least two are members of member organisations at the time of appointment. The members of the Finance Committee shall be appointed by the Teekkari Council.
Anyone with an interest in the finances of the Union is eligible to become a member of the Finance Committee. Experience in the activities of an association or student union would be an advantage. The application is open until 3rd of November. The Board makes a proposal to the Council on the composition for the following year, after which the Council decides on the composition for the following year at its autumn meeting.
Previous years the Committee has operated in Finnish, as all the financial documents are in Finnish. When a competent person is found, these documents can be translated into English and change the operations to English.
