Role specifications
Vice-Chair of the Section (Teekkari apprentice / TTs official)
The Teekkari apprentice works in cooperation with the Minister of Teekkaris. Together they lead the Teekkari Section. The role includes keeping the Teekkari Section refreshed, sharing responsibility for Teekkari Sections events and projects, providing secretarial support for meetings and liaising with other Teekkari cities, together with the Minister of Teekkaris. The tasks can of course be agreed in more detail with the Minister of Teekkaris depending on your own interests. The officers will be part of the association's close-knit team and can take advantage of its benefits, such as expenses for the association's premises, Loimio. Officers are welcome to attend Board meetings, but are not obliged to do so unless there are matters relating to their employment on the ice.
Event responsible
The primary responsibility of the event responsible within the section is, as the name suggests, organizing and executing student events. Traditional annual events organized by the event responsible of the student committee include Wappu exchenge, relative sitsis, the Pre Christmas Cruise, Herwanta Race, and the Lowering the cap. In addition to traditional events, there is also the opportunity to contribute to events such as international events and Wappu celebrations. The upcoming TT60v anniversary year offers an incredible chance to create something extraordinary! As an event coordinator, you will also collaborate in planning events with the student committee in Otaniemi.
As an event coordinator, you will certainly get the chance to organize both large and smaller events, with the number of participants ranging from a few dozen to over a thousand. This position provides truly diverse experience!
Experience from a year or more in organizing events for guilds or clubs is beneficial for the event coordinator position. However, enthusiasm, motivation, and a proactive attitude can take you far! You can also apply to be an event coordinator if you want to implement a new project that the committee or the entire student community has not seen before!
Song Master
The song master of the student committee maintains and develops our cherished singing culture. In addition to leading numerous sitsit and annual celebrations throughout the year, the role also includes organizing various singing evenings and song master training sessions. For instance, as the song master of the Teekkari section, you will have the opportunity to organize the traditional Mega Singing Night as part of the Wappu celebrations.
If you are considering applying for the position of song leader in the student committee, previous experience in song leading, sitsit, and annual celebrations—as well as a strong connection to the singing culture—is recommended. In the coming year, there will also be song master responsibilities for the TT60v anniversary celebrations!
A true teekkari would rather sing than sing well, and there is plenty of room next to the note for everyone, so actual singing talent is by no means required. Of course, a musical background can be more of an asset than a hindrance! If you feel that you can handle unexpected situations and are willing to perform in front of others, the role of song master will suit you perfectly.
Teekkarimuseo responsible
The Teekkarimuseo is an important part of Tampere's student culture, offering many opportunities to reminisce about the past or learn something new. For this reason, the role of Teekkarimuseo responsible is an excellent chance to leave your mark on this showcase of student life! Over the past year, the museum has undergone renovations, and now there is an opportunity to work in a completely refreshed space!
There is still room for further development, and you will have the freedom to implement your own ideas with nearly no restrictions. All necessary knowledge can be gained through hands-on experience! The most important thing is enthusiasm for developing the museum. The teekkarimuseo responsible won't be confined to a display case (at least not for the entire year); instead, they will have the chance to participate in organizing events and activities with the rest of the committee as much as they like.
The museum coordinator position is typically a two-year term, involving the planning of long-term development strategies for the museum, including collaboration with former Teekkarimuseo responsible.
Tempaus responsible
Are you interested in organizing something impactful, relaxed, or socially conscious?
Campaign activities reflect their organizers, but the core idea is to harness the amazing student community to contribute to a shared cause.
Campaign activities are perfect for you if you're an active doer with great ideas for impactful initiatives. The role requires the ability to take initiative, as there may not always be a ready-made plan for organizing events. You will also have the opportunity to participate in other sections projects and events, so this role is far from monotonous!
Communications responsible and Graphic Designer
Do you want to stay informed about what’s happening, but feel the event responsible role might not be for you? Is Canva a familiar tool, and can you easily create event graphics and communication texts? The communications responsible role involves managing event communication, which includes ensuring its quality, scheduling, and distribution to the right channels.
Experience in communication tasks such as composing and translating emails and information texts, handling Facebook, Instagram, and potentially other social media platforms, as well as basic knowledge of the WordPress platform, is beneficial for this position. Graphic design skills are also a huge advantage! The role requires the ability to schedule communication plans for events, remind committee members when needed, and respond quickly to changing situations as events approach. Keep in mind that many skills can be learned on the job, even if you don’t have prior experience with all the tasks mentioned!
Social Media responsible
This is a completely new position, offering incredible opportunities for development. You will definitely collaborate with the Minister of Communications of the Teekkaris Union of Tampere and the Graphic Designer and Communications responsible.
