Teekkari museum of Tampere is a museum dedicated to teekkari culture in Tampere University Hervanta campus. The museum was opened in 2008 to store and display the cornerstones of teekkari culture in Tampere since the first teekkaris started studying here in 1965. Another museum dedicated to teekkari culture is Polyteekkarimuseo, which was founded in 1958 and is located in Otaniemi, Espoo.
Teekkari museum of Tampere can be found in the ground floor of Rakennustalo in Hervanta campus. The museum exhibits a lot of guild and club items as well as photos of events, jäynäs and other traditions from the over 50-year-old teekkari history in Tampere. During a museum tour you will get familiar with for example the singing and sitsi culture in Tampere, and learn what happens during our two-week-long Wappu, which culminates to an event organized every year since 1966, the teekkari dipping.
